About Us

Mums in Bahrain is the first and only parenting portal in Bahrain, it was launched December 2008 to help local and expat mums to know more about parenting and life style in Bahrain.

Mums in Bahrain was formed by Claire Willats , I was both excited and quite frightened to be leaving my family and home to come to Bahrain with my husband. With only a few online resources for parents I decided to document all the places, activities and good advice I had started to pick up from other expat and local mums.

The few rough pages had 25000 hits in the first 3months, it was clear I needed to do more

In January 2009 I met Ghada Salem coming from Marketing and Business development back ground, and used to work in IT and Telecom industry for 7 years between Egypt and Malaysia, then moved to Bahrain 2007.

And together "Claire and Ghada" we have developed Mums in Bahrain to a comprehensive site with events, information, tips, a forum, discounts and so much more.

MIB; is targeting Mums and Kids, answering all what the mums and families might be looking for. The main purpose of the portal is to provide Mums and families with a guide to a successful family life in Bahrain

MIB Philosophy

MIB philosophy is to help expat mums cope with the new country they moved to and on the other hand help local mums to cope with expat mums, as a result Bahrain will be the first and only country that enjoys raising up its kids " local and expats” on a multicultural bases which will allow the new generation to learn how to respect each other's traditions and believes, it worth noting here that mums learn from each other as well

MIB Membership

Membership with Mums in Bahrain is free and ensures you get invitations and sms info on our fantastic activities (many of which are free) and each month as well as our regular activities like Spa Day, Coffee Morning, Horse Riding, and Playdates we try to arrange varied and new activities each month to keep the kids and mums from getting bored!
